PUBLICATIONS

When my wife, Joyce became sick and I had been roller-skating between four satellite dental offices for the past 26 years, I decided to work part-time in volunteer dentistry, spend the rest of the time with the family and take up a hobby of writing. I established my own publishing company that I called the Steingarten Press - so named because oftentimes I would sit out in the patio of my son’s restaurant, also called Steingarten, and conjure up ideas concerning mostly the history of the Leech Lake Area. My first book was “Physician & His Territory” – a history of the practice of medicine in the Leech Lake Area, since Dad was one of those medical doctors. This was followed by ‘Bodega” – a history of the bar business and “Steamboatin’ On Leech” – a history of boating on Leech Lake. Histories of Rotary and the Legion Club followed with “Te-Bar-Ge-Mo” and “Spence, Bobby, Sewell & Max” respectively. These five publications were combined into a book published for our town’s centennial called, “Tanks Fur Comin’”.

Books for the family followed as everyone received an annual edition for their Christmas present – “To Where They Are”, “Through The Years”, “They Both Had A Thing About Angels”, “The Paperboy” and a series of little children books entitled, “Vebbeck” named after my seven grandchildren and recently, with the birth of Thea changed to, “Tevbbeck”. “Volunteer Dentistry In The Northwoods”, “High On A Hill” and “Born, Raised, Don’t Know No Difference” have been the most recent publications.

If you are interested in any of these publications, see the instructions below books for purchase and thank you sincerely for your interest.
